Hey everybody, Just recently (Last week), Valve officially announced that they are making their own "console" and OS (operating system). Your steam profile on your PC will transfer over to this console so you can keep your game library. The most interesting of information (for me at least) was the controller *image below as well as a link to more information* Im just curious as to what people think about Valve competing with the big 3 and would anybody consider this console/PC to any of the next gen consoles??? Also, what is everybody's views on the two touch pad controller??? ca.ign.com/articles/2013/10/04/valve-details-its-high-end-customizable-steam-machine-prototype

Lol, this is a whole topic in itself for me! =D
Steam gaming and other online server stuff is beyond my "gaming scope" so to speak. Ooya was interesting concept, but can't bring myself to adopt that way of gaming, maybe i'm a dinosaur, but I hate internet gaming lol.
The only great advantage I see is that smaller companies have a forum to show their games without needing a hugh world wide publisher. I love holding a physical copy of a game that i own forever!
What are your thoughts? Anyone out there use steam?

Steam is the future. Seriously the games are priced agressively and always ahead in terms of specs because of PC video cards. Play Devil May Cry at a resolution of higher than 1080p on a PC. It looks nuts.

I just bought Bioshock Infinite for 13 bucks on the weekend and its wonderful. I do understand the whole physical copy of a game cause Im kind of like that too but its actually cheaper to game on PC because of steam and all the great deals. You could possibly argue that you have to upgrade your PC but once you put a little money into it, you wont have to upgrade. Personally, the future of gaming is steam!

I am definitely in the group that likes their physical discs/carts/etc. While I'm not completely against digital forms of games, I prefer to have a physical copy. Just makes it feel more real. I don't use Steam currently, as my computer isn't able to handle games on it. I know, I really need to upgrade it (if for nothing else than for my YouTube videos, as it takes a long time to edit/record/etc on this computer as it is). But while it isn't my preferred way to get my games, I can definitely see the attraction to it. I'd like to see Steam/Valve become competitive against the big 3.
I'd have to look into it more, but I might consider getting a "Steam Box" eventually.

With the competitive pricing of steam (just got bioshock infinite for 13 dollars) how can you not pick it up (unless you have a decent pc). Its pricing like that is why I look at digital downloads for games even though I prefer my physical copy. But I know I can redownload my game if its lost, but with a physical copy, once its gone, its gone. The big 3 will HAVE to have a very similar business model when it comes to digital download. Why have it the same price as a physical copy?
